The Ingredients
Believe in yourself
Everything starts with this mindset. Nothing happens and there is no forward progress without the belief that you can achieve your goal that you set for yourself. Your belief can from different things if you don't already have it. Surround yourself with optimistic and supportive people. Our social influences are incredibly powerful. If you can not find a mentor, simp,y surround yourself with people are moving in the direction you want to be moving in. You don't have to be chasing the same goals, but the same direction. It is in this space where you will bridge the gap between believing you can do something and knowing you can do something. Read about people who you regard as high achievers. You may be surprised to know that we may share some of the same struggles in pursuit of our goals.
Set the Goal
Setting the goal accomplishes two things. It gives you direction and motivates you to formulate a plan. Action without direction is wasted energy. It is unlikely you will achieve any goal if one isn't clearly identified.
Create the Plan
Clearly outline what needs to be done. Figure out what you need to know and understand what you don't know. Obtain enough knowledge to have confidence to go and create the behavior. Creating the plan helps you when you fall off your routine so you always know where you have to get back to if you go off the reservation.
Commit to the Process
Create the behavior and establish new habits that move you in the direction of achieving your goal. This will be the most tedious and challenging phase of the experience but will reap the most rewards and benefits. Your feelings will fluctuate and you will wonder if it is worth it. It is. No matter what you feel once you enter the process of committing, make the contract with yourself that you will commit and recommit as many times as necessary until you achieve your goal. This is where you will be successful or not in achieving your goal. Fear and doubt will attack you fiercely in this stage. Have faith in yourself and trust the process.
Achieve
When you are successful in creating the habits to achieve your goal, you will have landed you flag. Your mindset will have changed along with the creation of your news habits.
Celebrate
Believe it or not, there are many people that do not take the time out to consciously appreciate themselves. Celebrating your wins, both small and large are necessary. You've earned it and deserve to be celebrated and appreciated. To not do so will add stress and down the road resentment on your journey. There is no room for negativity once you are in your realm of achievement.
Repeat
Having already gone through the process makes it all the more believable and doable each and every time thereafter. Adding to your expanding circle little by little is how your greatness and unstoppable nature becomes the new normal over time.
